Yesterday I took a drive over to check out Chastain East, a new development on the east side of Chastain Park. This western stretch of Wieuca Road was previously the home of 15 single family residences on 8.4 acres. Once complete Chastain East will have 32 new single family residences priced from $1,000,000 and up.
As you drive down Wieuca Road you will see the first two homes are already out of the ground and framed up. Chastain East will offer several floor plans including options with master on the main and master up. All of the floorpans include a covered front porch, rear entry two car garage, and rear covered porch. According to their website, each home in Chastain East will feature the very latest in home design trends, energy efficiency and craftsmanship. If you are looking for a home that gives you the freedom to lock and leave, this could be a great option for you. In a Q&A with one of the developers Southeast Capital Companies, Jay Clark explained that the home owners association will maintain all yards and common areas.
The interior finishes look amazing and have lots of options, both standard and upgrades. Below are several photos representative of how the interiors will look. Click on the image to see the finishes guide on their website.
Below are several pictures showing what the development site looks like today. Once complete the streets will be tree-lined and have a much cozier feel than what you see today.
Chastain East is being developed in a partnership between Southeast Capital Companies and Home South Communities. For more information on this development, fill out the contact form on their website http://chastaineast.com/en/contact and check back here for updates as this new development comes together.

Last week I listed 4510 Runnemede Road for sale in Chastain Park. This home has curb appeal for years with the painted white brick, copper gutters and cedar shingle roof.
4510 is located at the end of Runnemede Road, perched above the street with a large front yard. Inside are gracious rooms including a formal dining room, fireside living room, separate family room, breakfast area and kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counters and center island. Windows and French doors across the back of the house give access to the private fenced back yard and patio, a perfect place for play and entertaining.
Upstairs are three bedrooms and two baths including the master suite. A potential fourth bedroom or bonus room is also upstairs with it’s own separate staircase down to a full bathroom.
Additional features include a partial basement and 2-car carport. Runnemede Road feeds into W T Jackson Elementary, Sutton Middle and North Atlanta High Schools. A sidewalk away from Chastain Park, neighbors enjoy everything that it has to offer including the Chastain Park Amphitheater, Horse Park, Tennis Center, Arts Center, North Fulton Golf Course, NYO and the 1 year old playground, plus a 3.1 mile PATH around the 268 acre park.
Call me to schedule and appointment to see this great house in Chastain Park. Full details and photos can be seen at http://search.carsonmatthews.com/homes/49/55957/4510-RUNNEMEDE-ROAD-NW-ATLANTA-GA-30327/5814032

Be on the lookout for the new stop sign that was
installed yesterday 1/26/17 in Chastain Park. The new 3-way stop is at the intersection of Powers Ferry Road and Hillside Drive. This is a welcome addition to those that are turning onto Powers Ferry from Hillside, as well as pedestrians on the PATH, as this stretch of road tends to be fast.

During today’s storm I had to be in Sandy Springs, so before leaving the house I set up my GoPro to capture a time lapse of the storm that was set to come through Atlanta. After getting home I watched it probably three times before Henry saw this flash of lightning from the top of the sky down into the trees across the street. I was able to grab that image and save it. On my way home I drove through Chastain Park on West Wieuca and there was a fire truck parked out in front of the Galloway School. I wonder if their building was hit… Anyone know?
