State Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park 2018 Renovations
The newly renamed State Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park has been undergoing a $6 million renovation since late October 2017. The board and staff of the Chastain Park Conservancy were given a tour of the improvements with Peter Conlon of Live Nation. Peter showed us around and answered all of our questions. While the historic guts of the amphitheatre remain the same, the improvements are a welcome site. Some of the highlights are a raised stage & ceiling height allowing for video boards and modern day sound and lighting rigs. The concession area has always been drab, but today it is a focal point with all new kitchen and serving facilities, areas to gather, legit bathrooms (with air conditioning). The amphitheatre is now fully ADA compliant including new elevators that take you right to the action. There are also true box seats closest to the stage with cushy seats and cup holders! Check out the pictures below, the 2018 schedule, and a video tour that WSB-TV posted today.
