Crime Alert in Chastain Park July 10, 2010

July 10, 2010
I just received this email from the Chastain Park Civic Association regarding recent home break-ins.  Please read and be on the lookout.
The CPCA is sending this email to alert you to a rash of recent home break-ins / burglaries in our neighborhood.  The latest occurred this morning at 10:00 AM on Putnam Circle, while the Dad was home. A lap top was taken. Last weekend, a home on Carlton Drive had its back door kicked in and jewelry taken while the family and their dogs were at the lake. Moreover, about a month ago, we had incidents on Lake Forrest Drive, Jettridge Drive, and Powers Ferry Road just north of the 5-way stop before you reach Roswell Road to the south.  Please be vigilant in our neighborhood for suspicious vehicles and activities and report this directly to the Police Department by calling 911. As Sgt. Barry Miller of our Security Patrol often says, “do not be shy about calling.” By the way, the perpetrator this morning carries a black backpack, 20 – 25 years old, 5′ 7″ height, short hair (almost shaved head) and was wearing a black tank top with green basketball shorts. It is very possible that this person is responsible for multiple crimes in our neighborhood. There is another report of a white mini-van delivering telephone books to the front door of homes. This appears to be a scam and a way to case your house. Do not answer your door and report to 911 if you see this person. He was last seen on Lake Forrest Lane. Also, there have been some reported smash and grabs from cars in the park along Galloway Way, formerly Pool Road.

Last, Todd Davis of our security group and Barry Miller from our Chastain Park Security Patrol will be scheduling meetings throughout Chastain Park to discuss crime prevention.
Please let us know if you would like to host a meeting. We all need to be vigilant for our collective safety. Thank you.
By joining the Chastain Park Civic Association you are funding the security patrol.  Easy math would tell you that the more people that join, the more security patrols we will have in Chastain Park.  Join at
