Are the Cops Directing Traffic Necessary at 9pm?

July 8, 2009

copExcuse the rant, but are the police really necessary hours before Chastain Park concerts and during concerts?  I get that it’s important to have them there during the high traffic times, but at 9pm during the concert, is it necessary to blow your whistle and use your stop & go signals when two cars are at the 4-point intersection of Powers Ferry, Lake Forrest & Putnam?  I can’t imagine how annoying it is for the homeowners that live right there, not to mention the West Wieuca & Lake Forest intersection.  I promise we can get through the four way stop just as we do every other day of the week.

If anyone is listening, at least let’s stop using the whistles once the concerts have started and the traffic is back to normal.

You are right about the two r’s and I greatly apologize for that. It’s my understanding that it was named after someone named Forrest but it was not Nathan Bedford Forrest. Originally it was called West Peachtree Drive before being changed to Lake Forrest Drive.
